Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa and now living in Sydney, 0dB is both a DJ and producer who has spent well over a decade figuring honing his craft and gives much thanks to the music applications of today, which have become rather good since he first started tweaking random dials in Cubase VST 2.5.
After attending his first parties in Cape Town, South Africa in 1997 and over the years gigging in England, Wales, Portugal, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia, 0dB has managed to appear on flyers alongside some titans & legends of Psytrance: Psymmetrix, Southwild, K.I.M, Aardvarkk, Stereoxide, Headroom, Grouch, Lucas, Scorb, Tristan, Avalon, Morten Granau & Vice, Emok & Bakke, Merkaba, HOPI, Liquid Ross, Shane Gobi, Baelter, Renegade_DJ (shout out to the wifey), Hamish & Bedders (TOP lads), Evil Oil Man, Hypnocoustics, CIMI, M-Theory, Headworks, Virtual Light, Pollyfonika, Rastaliens, Braincell, Mutana Kataro, Mental Broadcast , Yestermorrow, E-Clip, Jo Moontribe, Mirok, EVP, Skyfall, Menog, Helber Gun, Antaro, Manmachine, Apnea, Sinerider, Escape, Tongue & Groove…....
As a producer 0dB has managed a couple releases too. First up was an original track released on Furthur Progressions Records VA London Landscapes 2. The track is titled “Abstract Algebra” and the VA made it all the way to number 1 on the Beatport charts and included tracks with big names like Ace Ventura, Antix, Allaby, Liftshift, CIMI, Klopfgeister, Burn in Noise, Avalon, Kali, Lifeforms, Ilai, Oddwave, Maitika, Pspiralife and more. Thank you guys! Next up came his release on the launch VA of Reversible Records called Another World. This track was called “Sativa” and is more of a night time groovy psychedelic track. The VA also did very well and it was great to be a part of this as Reversible Records are a real label family, owned and managed by Ninesense and filled with some really incredible artists who are smashing it at the moment. Then came 0dB’s first EP release on Furthur Progressions Records titled “Tarantism”. These two tracks were pulled from his live set and very surprisingly made it all the way to number 1 on the Beatport charts but there must have been some mistake with their analytics systems Regardless, he still has the screen grab of this and is considering framing it!
